Berkeley College, Yale University
Product: Berkeley
Architect: Kieran, Timberlake & Harris
Architects
Contractor: CWI
Client: Yale University
The Berkeley range was specifically designed in order to replace the 1930's steel windows at Yale University. The windows being a key element in the historically sensitive refurbishment programme.
The Berkeley section is interesting as it is milled from a single piece of steel and the windows have a solid steel chamfer that enables the frames to be glazed from the inside thus improving security and ease of reglazing, but also resembling traditional putty glazing.
