A new development at the Bittoms in Kingston-upon-Thames has included steel profiles from Crittall Windows in the construction. The project is a major multi-million-pound Public Private Partnership (PPP) mixed used development for Kingston College.

For the new-build residential phase, architects Noble Associates specified Crittall's classic W20 profile. The advantage of the W20 profile is its versatility and inherent strength which supports all sizes of glass, allowing them to be used not merely as functional windows, but incorporated into the design as an integral element. The minimalist qualities of the narrow sightlines and slender styled profiles add anaesthetic value and minimise the appearance of unsightly transoms and mullions.

For the sports centre, Corporate 2000 steel profiles were chosen as the most suitable option. These offer extreme strength and durability and slender styling and narrow sightlines associated with steel fenestration. "We have used Crittall Steel Profiles throughout this development for their aesthetic appeal." Comments architect Graeme Noble, of the practice. " The steel detailing enhances the visual interest of the overall design and the thermal performance is achieved with the specification of the glass."
