Vigorous restoration of the docklands area in recent years has seen an expanse of new construction and refurbishment, including the restoration of a Grade I listed warehouse on West India Quay. This former sugar, rum and coffee warehouse has been converted into a museum in the docklands, as a reminder of the historic importance of the port and its people. To maintain the character and architectural value of the building, Crittall Windows supplied its Corporate 2000 steel profiles for the entire structure.

The historic window spaces were little more than grilles with secondary steel windows behind. Crittall replaced all units with its Corporate 2000 profiles, which offer incredible strength and double weatherstripping for improved weather performance. The classic elegance of the profiles, with its slim glazing bars minimises the intrusion of prominent mullions and transoms, without detracting from the Georgian style of the original architecture.

The regeneration of the warehouse has made significant use of the existing character of the building, with the refurbished shell of the original structure complemented by the modern, durable and minimalist appearance of the Crittall steel profiles.
