Frequently Asked Questions
Home-owners: existing steel windows
Can I re-glaze my single-glazed Crittall windows with double glass sealed units?
Unfortunately not. When fitting a sealed unit into a window frame there must be a certain amount of frame coverage over the glass edge. The older, single-glazed frame glazing rebate is not deep enough to allow this coverage. Any window re-glazed with a sealed unit will quickly break down due to weather penetration.
New Homelight Crittall frames supplied for double-glazing have an increased glazing rebate, allowing use of sealed units up to 24mm.
