Traditional Prison Windows

The original Crittall steel window is manufactured from Corporate W20 section. However, Crittall also offer an alternative product manufactured from Corporate 2000 (Patented design and Home Office Approved).

Typically a prison window is:

• Approximately a metre square.
• Divided into five vertical panels, each 125mm wide.
• The outer two lights can be opened from the inside, restricted to a 35 degree opening.
• The frame arrangements elevationally mirror the 24 hour grille pattern and offer a flush relationship.
• Fitted with shortened grip prison handle with shake proof screw and flat washer concealed by a stainless steel shroud. 

Improved Special Cell Prison Windows

An alternative prison window design to aid the safe cell concept.

• The window offers ventilation and daylight and reduces the ligature risk.
• Designed to resist being damaged or tampered with. 

Acoustic Properties

Sound insulation of weather stripped windows/doors (approximate values averaged over a frequencyrange of 100 to 3150Hz).
