Crittall Fendor recently completed a specialist glazing project for the new build Portsmouth Police Investigation Centre.

Fendor manufactured and installed the cell windows and roof-lights at the new police site, which are all barless and secure, offering maximum light. Cellguard windows are part of a range developed to comply with new barless legislation in the custodial sector.

Crittall Fendor were chosen to feature in the project due to a successful installation in Basingstoke two years ago. After visiting some new police custody centres in South Wales, the Hampshire team decided that Crittall Fendor products would be the best fit for their requirements.

Speaking of the project, Moira Anderson from Hampshire Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, said “We chose to specify CellGuard windows for this project as they offered a modern look without compromising security. The windows are very slim-line and allow plenty of light in, which was an important factor in our decision to use Crittall Fendor.”

Hampshire Police were very happy with the finished product and look forward to working with the Crittall Fendor team again on future projects.

The CellGuard window was originally developed by glazing specialists Crittall Fendor for use in custodial buildings but can be specified for government or specialist buildings that could be threatened by manual attack.
