Did you tune in to DIY SOS?

It was such a privilege to be involved with the DIY SOS Swansea Big Build which aired last night on BBC1.

Products were supplied for a much-needed support centre for Swansea-based charity The Roots Foundation Wales. The charity offers support to children and young people in, or leaving, foster care in the Swansea area.

DIY SOS had just 11 days to build them a brand new support centre, with attached flats, to give the charity the facilities necessary to continue their work.

Crittall Fabrications of Hitchin (Hertfordshire) supported the project by donating the centre with doors into the therapy room and communal kitchen, plus a large fixed steel window for the latter.

The accredited fire rating installation team of Crittall Fendor, based in Washington (North East England), supplied the site installation labour to fix and glaze the products.

Supporting enterprises working alongside the Crittall companies included Pyroguard, which co-donated the specialist fire rated glass, along with glass suppliers, Crystal Units. Schuco donated the base fire-rated systems’ materials for the products manufactured by Crittall Fabrications.

Well done to everyone involved in this amazing build, we hope our contribution will help those in need at The Roots Foundation.
